For over a year, Autism Delaware, the University of Delaware’s Center for Disabilities Studies (CDS), and Delaware’s Department of Education led a collaboration of professionals and parents around the state to develop a plan to address the numbers and needs of people with autism and their families in Delaware.The result of this collaboration, as well as needs assessments by CDS, is the Blueprint for Collective Action, a strategic plan targeting seven identified improvement areas with bold goals for each that calls for an unprecedented level of public-private partnership in addressing autism in Delaware.
The Blueprint was unveiled on July 15, 2013. That is also the date when the work to implement the plan and achieve its goals for all affected by autism in Delaware began. You can read the Blueprint as well as the presentation on how it was developed at the links below.
